Counselling that’s real, grounded, and on your side
Life can feel heavy, confusing or too much. A clear, boundaried space to talk can help you make sense of things and choose your next step.

Hi, I’m Lisa Norfolk
A warm welcome!
I’m a BACP-accredited counsellor with 20 years’ experience. I work with young people (11+), adults and parents across Leeds and online. My role is not to fix you; it’s to offer a safe, respectful space where you can be heard, understand what’s going on and move forward at your pace.
I’ve worked in third-sector services with young people, adults and families for almost two decades, alongside private practice. I bring adaptability and strong boundaries, so the work fits you.
My counselling approach
I am person-centred and trauma-informed. Sessions are led by your story, your pace and your aims. When helpful, I integrate other approaches such as brief, relational and solution-focused work, and I use creative methods like art, objects or writing, especially when words are hard.
I believe you are the expert in your own life, although belief in self can be shaken by life events, trauma and negative experiences. I am here to cultivate, validate and empower, and to work collaboratively so you can find yourself again.
We agree goals together, review regularly, and choose short-term or longer-term work as needed. Inclusion matters here. I have additional training with the LGBTQI+ community and neurodiversity, and I have worked with multi-cultural clients across Leeds and Bradford.
Who I help
Young people (11+)
A steady space to talk things through.
School or college stress, anxiety, friendship fallouts, identity, loss or trauma—whatever’s going on, we go at your pace. We can use talking or creative options (drawing, objects, writing) when words are hard. Confidential, boundaried, and focused on what helps you now.
Adults
Clear support when life feels heavy or stuck.
Anxiety, grief, trauma, work stress or big life changes—we’ll make sense of it and map realistic next steps. I also support parents who want space for themselves, which in turn often improves their relationship with their child, always respecting a young person's privacy and autonomy.
